My Trip to Nassau, Bahamas

Written: December 24, 2018

Hello! Welcome to another travel diary. I’m excited to share this experience. One of my goals in life is to become a world class traveler. I want to see the world in every way possible. When I was younger, my mother exposed me to the world of travel and I promised myself that I would get back to making those experiences. So, let’s get into it!

Why the Bahamas! Um because it was he cheapest destination during this time of the year. I’m not picky with destinations. As stated in my last blog, I chose my destination on the climate and environment I want to be in. Plus, you can never go wrong with islands in the Caribbean. Not only was this destination cheap but it was my birthday weekend and I wanted to spend it in warm weather and surrounded by beaches.

Let’s talk details. So, my trip all together cost $690, flight and all-inclusive resort. I was lucky enough to find a round trip through delta airlines for $154.00. I was very surprised when I found this price. I research flights months in advance. Prices change each day and you never know when a deal may pop up.

I stayed at my first all-inclusive resort, Breezes Spa and Resort. I got there in the evening, so the hotel was a little quiet. I went up to my room and it was lovely and clean. The linen was clean, the bathroom was tidy, and the room smelled wonderful. As soon as I got my things in order, I went straight to the bar. Now, one thing with all-inclusive resorts, you can eat as much as you want and drink as much as you want. I was light as a feather during my entire stay.

The beach was very clean. Little to no seaweed. Swimming was interrupted a few times by a stingray, but I didn't have to worry about that, I stayed out of the water most of the time. When I vacation, I lay on the beach, I rarely get in the water. I just enjoy the sound of the waves, the sun on my skin and that fresh Caribbean air. I didn’t do any water activities, honestly, I was super lazy during this vacation.

Side note: I did have dinner with this family the first night, I find myself in a lot of “Get Out” situations. LOL! It was all good, they were very nice people. I also had a Latin Lover Follower. He was everywhere I was, it was a bit creepy, but he kept his distance. The resort had a lot of activities. I played a car game with a group of travelers. Pool with my travel partner and even danced in a trivia competition. The hotel staff was so nice and engaging, there was no way you couldn't have a good time.

Each time I travel somewhere, I must adventure somewhere. Since I was in Nassau, I had to go to the historic downtown Nassau attractions. I had my heart set on one site, The Queens Staircase. It was surrounded by beautiful trees; a water falls and brick walls. It was built by slaves for a European Queen. I took pictures and saw more sites of downtown Nassau.

Overall, this was a great experience. I really enjoyed my trip to Nassau. I would recommend anyone to travel there. Check out my Instagram story for footage of my trip.

This is my third and final international trip of 2018, 2019 here I come!
