Cleansing and Charging Crystals

Updated: Jan 17, 2022

Why do we cleanse and charge our crystals? Well, I say it’s the same reason we cleanse and charge our bodies, to renew ourselves. When you’re dirty, you may feel stagnant or not to your full potential, our crystals feel the same way. When dust and debris accumulate on your stones and crystals it impacts their ability to vibrate their intended frequency.

Cleansing

You can cleanse your crystals several ways: Water/Sea Salt Water, Sage, Sound and with other Cleansing Crystals. I’ll discuss cleansing with water and sage in this post.

  1. Cleansing with water is simple, make sure you’re not water-cleansing a stone that's porous (pyrite/selenite). The water can break down a stone like that. Run the water over your stone for as long as you like. I personally wait until I feel a warmth in my aura and then I remove the stone and place it in a bowl. Some may speak or sing to their crystal while cleansing them, it's all up to you and the vibe you want to set for your stones.

  2. Sage is another popular method. When using sage to cleanse, burn the tip of your sage bundle, lightly blow the tip to allow the sage smoke to cultivate. Hover the sage smoke over and close to your crystals. If you have a feather from your smudge set, you can use it to guide the smoke in the crystals direction or blow using your mouth. Open your window during or after your cleansing session, this allows you to rid of the energy the crystals maybe holding.

Charging Crystals

You can charge your crystals in the Sun or Moon. The energy from the sun and moon activates and renews each crystal. You can leave your stones outside or at your window, just make sure your stones are in the direction of the sun or moon. You can leave your crystals overnight for the moon and an hour or so for the sun.

Now place your crystals back on your alter or throughout your home so that they can work and vibrate their frequencies.

Now that you know a little more about charging your crystals, try it out now.
